DR. GITA ZARNEGAR, DR. DEBORAH LYNN, AND DR. TARA SCHLUSSEL ARE THE CENTER FOR AUTHENTICITY

WHO WE ARE

We are Deborah Lynn, MD, Gita Zarnegar, PhD, PsyD, LMFT, and Tara Schlussel, PhD. We have been collaborating in our treatment of families for years. We recognize in each other a devoted work ethic, a deep caring for our patients and a vigorous desire for psychological and intellectual depth. With six decades of clinical experience between us, we share deep convictions concerning the kind of therapeutic practice that leads to successful outcomes. Given our shared values, we founded an organization committed to the healing and growth of our patients, based upon the superior clinical insight our combined years of practice have taught us.

WHAT WE THINK

At some point in their lives, many individuals realize that working with an experienced psychiatrist and psychotherapist to address life challenges, large or small, is essential to growth. Our clinical efforts are based upon a broad understanding of the human condition within the context of rigorous psychoanalytic inquiry and education. We feel compelled to make accessible to our patients these vastly complicated concepts, and formally offer them to our parents and clienteles.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Experience. Integrity. Authenticity.

People seek us out because, in addition to our credentials and years of experience, we are able to provide a treatment model that is based on integrity and authenticity. We pride ourselves on being truthful in our communications in order to identify central issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. We came together as a team because we recognized in each other the joyful and dedicated approach that we bring to our patients and to our own continuous professional development.

This education led to a career in Genetic Counseling, working with the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and the March of Dimes in New York City. Subsequently, she earned her Montessori Infant, Toddler, and Primary credentials from the NAMC, as well as Early Childhood and Supervisory Certifications from the University of California, Los Angeles. In the process, she has studied numerous neurosomatic therapies and became a Certified Clinical EFT Practitioner, HeartMath Interventions Practitioner, and Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) Provider. Carrie leverages this extensive mind-body education with specialized knowledge in stress management, nervous system regulation, resilience building, and emotional intelligence.

OUR APPROACH

Reveal. Release. Re-Engage.

Our approach is grounded in what we call “The Three R’s. “

Step11.png

Reveal

The starting point of therapy is a process of discovery—we look at all of the injurious ways you can be shaped by relationships with others (parents, siblings, other caretakers, peer groups, etc.) resulting in an arrest in the development of a true, authentic self. We provide an understanding of what lies out of your awareness, keeping you unfulfilled and stagnant.

step22.png

Release

We work with you to develop strategies to release the dynamics of internalized, deadening, stagnating and thwarting processes. This emboldens the conversations you need to have with yourself in order to reset your repetitive relational roles.

step33.png

Re-Engage

Ultimately, we help to identify critical tools required to grow as a thriving and vibrant human being. This helps you to address important relationships, life goals and aspirations. Our mutual work will help you to inhabit your own self-realized, authentic narrative, enabling you to live comfortably, make more authentic choices, and live with integrity. The goal is to develop a healthy template for new relationships.

Notice to Consumers

Good Faith Estimate

Effective January 1, 2022, Congress passed the No Surprises Act, a bill designed to protect patients seeking emergency services from surprise bills for medical care they receive at out-of-network facilities or for out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, holding the patient liable only for in-network cost-sharing amounts. The No Surprises Act requires healthcare providers to (1) inform consumers orally and in writing of their ability to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges at their request or when scheduling, and (2) to provide uninsured patients or self-pay patients not using insurance, this Good Faith Estimate of expected costs.

As such, we will provide you with a good faith estimate for expected charges for services. We will provide this estimate in writing, to be updated or renewed each year or when there are changes in expected fees. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. Your healthcare provider will ask you to review and sign a Good Faith Estimate. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
